Colombo Gazette learns that the party had been organised a few days before Christmas Day. A group of United National Party (UNP) members were among the guests at the party. Court orders cremation of another four inmates from Mahara Prison

The Wattala Magistrate?s Court has ordered the authorities to cremate the remains of another four inmates who were killed in the Mahara Prison riot in November. The decision was taken after considering the post mortem reports of four Mahara Prison inmates that were submitted to the Court last week. Japan concerned as China is ‘buying’ land around Tokyo’s military bases

China is buying land near Japan’s defence installations, making it another potential area of conflict between the two Asian nations. The Japanese government is planning to improve the security of military secrets and gain membership of the group that includes, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, reports The Sunday Times.
