AG concludes action on 15,000 criminal cases

The Attorney General has concluded action on 15,000 criminal cases within the first eleven months of this year. Nishara Jayaratne, the coordinating officer of the Attorney General said that 900 indictments have been forwarded to the High Courts during this period.

Education Minister rejects statements by Bandula

The Suraksha Insurance scheme for school children has not been suspended, The Ministry of Education said. Co-cabinet spokesman, Minister Bandula Gunawardana had said yesterday that the insurance scheme offered to students had been suspended.
