Cabinet approves signing of energy agreement with Qatar

Cabinet has approved the signing of an energy agreement with Qatar later this month.

The agreement is to be signed during?President Maithripala Sirisena’s official visit to the State of Qatar this month.

Cabinet has also approved two other agreements with?Qatar, including one put forward by the Foreign Minister.

President Sirisena is expected to hold discussions with his Qatari counterpart with a view to improving bilateral ties between the two countries.

Corex-D banned in Sri Lanka

The Ministry of Health?announced?today that the Corx-D?cough?syrup has been banned in Sri Lanka. According to the Health Ministry, the ban was imposed following the deaths of six individuals who had taken the syrup.
