Navy arrests four Indian fishermen off Delft Island

The Navy arrested four Indian fishermen and seized a trawler off Delft Island, the Navy media unit said.

Naval personnel on board SLN Gun Boat, Edithara II attached to the Northern Naval Command arrested the Indian fishermen 11.8 nautical miles west of Delft Island.

The trawler and fishing gear were brought to the Navy base “Elara” in Karainagar while the fishermen were brought to the Navy base “Uttara” in Kankesanthurai.

The Indians were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director of Jaffna. (Colombo Gazette)
