A monk arrested over links to businesswoman Thilini Priyamali has been remanded until 16th November. The?Venerable Borella Sirisumana Thero was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday. The monk was produced in court today and remanded. Over 50 students of Panadura school admitted to hospital

Over 50 students of a school in Panadura were admitted to hospital today owing to smoke inhalation. Hospital officials said that most students are from the primary section of the school. The students were admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties. The students had reportedly fallen sick after smoke from a nearby establishment had filled the class rooms of the school. The students were admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital for treatment. (Colombo Gazette)
