Finance Ministry?announces tax and duty reductions

The Finance Ministry today announced some tax on duty concessions, during a press conference at the Finance Ministry.

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said the 10 percent Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) levy imposed on internet services will be removed from September.

The Finance?Ministry also said that the production tax on mini trucks and single cabs will be reduced from Rs. 10,000,00 to 700,00 from tomorrow.

The 90 percent tax imposed based on the value of motorcycles less that 150cc has also been removed.

State Minister of Finance Eran Wickremeratne said that the duty and tax reductions are not targeting an election but part of pre-budget concessions.?(Colombo Gazette)

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has topped the votes in the Galle District and secured seven seats at the 2020 General Election.
