Suspect arrested for attacking PHI officer

A suspect has been arrested on charges of attacking a Public Health Inspector with a knife in the Rambukana area yesterday. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said the suspect had attacked the officer preventing him from carrying out his official duties. The suspect was arrested during a special operation conducted by the Police today. DIG Rohana said measures will be taken to produce him in court and remand him. (Colombo Gazette)

Another batch leaves Air Force quarantine center

A group of 203 Sri Lankans who were placed at the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) quarantine center in Mullaitivu left for home today. All passengers arriving from overseas are being sent to quarantine centres due to the COVID- 19 outbreak in Sri Lanka. More coronavirus patients detected in Sri Lanka

One more individual infected with COVID- 19 was identified in Sri Lanka today, increasing the total number of infected patients to 176. The Ministry of Health said 138 patients have been identified as active cases among the infected persons.
