CID told to investigate claims by Bandula on lottery ticket

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has been asked to investigate claims by joint opposition Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardena of fake lottery tickets being sold by agents of the National Lotteries Board (NLB)

Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake told Parliament today that investigations conducted by NLB had found that the claims made by Gunawardena are false.

Gunawardena had shown a lottery ticket to the media at a recent press conference claiming it was a fake lottery ticket and that it was issued by the NLB.

Karunanayake said?Gunawardena should have taken his claims to the CID to investigate before going to the media.

He said the CID has been asked by the Government to investigate the claims by?Gunawardena.
