JVP says time has come to pick a new Government

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says the time has come to pick a new Government as the current and the former Government failed to deliver on its promises.

JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that defeating the current Government is not difficult.

However he says the current Government will not be defeated in order to bring back the former Government to power.

He says the time has come to form a new Government with the support of the public.

“We need a real change. That cannot be done by the former Government,” he said.

He said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stole from the people and the new Government also stole through the Central Bank bond issue. (Colombo Gazette)

Chief incumbent of Induruwa temple murdered

The Chief incumbent of a temple in the Maha- Induruwa area in Induruwa has been murdered. The Police said the deceased is a 73 year -old monk. His body was found inside his abode at the temple premises following a tip off from a group of persons who had visited the temple this morning.
