New Foreign and Finance Ministers assume duties

New Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake and new Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera assumed duties today.

Samaraweera assumed duties at the Finance Ministry by signing his first document.

Karunanayake assumed duties following religious observances at the Foreign Ministry.

The new?Foreign Minister said that he will do his utmost?to meet the expectations of the President and the Prime Minister and also protect the sovereignty of the country.

He said Sri Lanka’s policy is to be friends to all and have no enemies and engage in economic diplomacy.

The Foreign Minister said that Sri Lanka must go forward united as one country by protecting all communities.?(Colombo Gazette)
