With the eighth edition of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 less than three weeks away, the preparations have begun, even as IPL 2017 features some of the stars who look set to dominate the tournament. Six of the eight teams taking part in the tournament will play warm-up matches in the week before the tournament.
Ireland, Bangladesh, and New Zealand play an ODI tri-series in Ireland and yet both Bangladesh and New Zealand will take on India in one of their two warm-up matches. India will play both their warm-up matches at the Kennington Oval in London, on May 28 and 30.
India, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh will all play two warm-up matches each at two venues – Kennington Oval in London and Edgbaston in Birmingham. The warm-up matches begin on May 26 and end on May 30 ahead of the Champions Trophy that begins on June 1.
Australia will take Sri Lanka and Pakistan in their warm-up matches, New Zealand play India and Sri Lanka as six warm-up matches will take place between May 26-30.
Two teams, England and South Africa aren’t playing any warm-up matches as the two teams are involved in a three-match ODI series beginning on May 24. The No.1 ranked ODI team in the world, South Africa will play No.5 ranked England at Leeds, Southampton and Lord’s on May 24, May 27 and May 29.
