Japanese team warn of excessive gas levels at garbage dump

A Japanese team of experts have warned of excessive gas levels at the Meethotamulla garbage dump site.

The experts today advised the military to be cautious on the use of heavy machinery in the area.

The Japanese team visited the site of the Meethotamulla garbage dump land slide today and carried out tests.

A report on the findings by the Japanese experts is to be submitted to the Government. (Colombo Gazette)

    You do not need any japanese to say about gas emissions in garbage piles. It can be methane, carbon dioxide and ammonia, hydrogen sulphide etc. Only problem is corrupted politicians cheating public to gain power and stay in power. What did we get for two years of new government after promising all good things… Sri Lanka has gone back to 50 years on development.
