Explosions, gun battle during major Kalmunai operation

Explosions were reported while a gun-battle also broke out during a major operation launched in Kalmunai this evening. The operation was launched by the Police and security forces to crackdown on terrorists linked to the Easter Sunday attack. Several bodies recovered after Kalmunai battle

Several bodies have been recovered after a major battle took place in Kalmunai last night. The Police said that 15 people were killed in a gun battle and explosion. The Police suspect a suicide bomber had triggered the explosion. Among the bodies recovered are of three women and six children.
