Report by UNP committee on Ranjan’s claims handed over

The report by the committee appointed by the United National Party (UNP) to investigate claims made by State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake that some Parliamentarians use cocaine, was handed over to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today. Sri Lankans in Oman in shock after four die in accident

Sri Lankan expatriates in Oman are in a state of mourning after the death of four of their compatriots in a road accident in Jebel Akhdar on Saturday, the Muscat Daily reported. Mahindananda’s son arrested over hit-and-run accident

The son of United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage was arrested today over a hit-and-run accident involving the Borella Police Traffic Officer In Charge (OIC). The OIC was critically injured in the accident in Bambalapitiya yesterday. A Defender type vehicle had crashed into the motorcycle of the Policeman and sped away followed by another jeep.
