Jazz Band RMXD at L.A.B, Hilton Colombo

Hilton Colombo is pleased to announce that sophisticated, Jazz Band RMXD will perform at the hotel’s lounge & bar, L.A.B on the 17th of February from 8.00pm to 11.00pm. The band was especially flown in to perform at the Colombo Jazz Festival that is taking place in Colombo on the 18th& 19th February.

A Vocalist, DJ/Trumpeter, Saxophonist, Pianist/Bass player and a percussionist come together as RMXD. Taking the classics and adding their own vibe – Loungy, deep, funky with Latin and jazz influences, creating a unique and special blend of sophisticated musicalentertainment.

Lynieve ‘vocalist extraordinaire’ and lead vocalist for RMXD Lynievehas supported ‘A’ list artists such as Curtis Mayfield, the Fatback Band and Alexander O’Neil. She toured and sung with ‘M People’ travelling across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Europe, America, Brazil. She has made appearances on television shows including ‘Later with Jools Holland’, ‘Smash Hits Awards’ and ‘Top of the pops’. She has also sung at Euro ’96 sharing the stage with ‘Simply Red’, ‘Madness’ and many other artists.

Other artists she has worked with include Almaraya featuring Simon James (classical Guitar) and Job Verweijen (Percussion), KB Fusionnaires, Raie, the lead singer from Incognito “Imaani” and featured on John Heaven’s recording on ‘Jazz’ record label.

Ashley is not only superb in tone and technique but has the energy and passion to take lifts the music to all new levels. In 2007 Ashley took up a place on the music degree at the ‘Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts’. Since then he has played regularly for England football player Steven Gerrard at private functions across Europe, performed for ‘Hugo Boss’, prestigious London hotels and private member clubs, including The Arts Club, Mayfair.

Ashley has also performed to Prince William and Prince Harry at London Fashion Week. As well as playing for RMXD Ashley also writes, records and arranges music in studios across London.

Adam plays Piano, Keytar and Bass for RMXD. Working alongside Isaac on elements of production and sound Adam is crucial to RMXD’s sound. He brings fresh and creative ideas into the studio and has amazing energy on stage. Adam has played to very high profile audiences including Sir Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue and Andrew Lloyd Webber. He has worked as the musical director and keys player for the bands Depedro, China Crisis and Dan Croll. TV appearances include the BBC and ITV and other independent channels.

Manos has been playing percussion on the professional circuit for 16 years. His rhythmic diversities and excellence have captivated audiences all over the globe to crowds in excess of 8,000 and across a variety of genres and entertainment platforms. He’s recent success has landed him with regular spots in London’s world famous Quaglinos& 100 WardourStreet. Highlights of his career have taken him to Spain, Croatia, Italy, Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. The last 6 years he has been developing his passion for Afro-Cuban rhythms and is proud to have studied with many of the masters from the UK and Cuba : CUBA –RumberosDe Cuba, UK -Master Percussionist Robin Jones (King Salsa), Crispin Robinson (Coldplay) and Albert Vila (Moby). With such knowledge and the ability to play with sensitivity to the music Manos has played for Cream, Ministry of Sound, HedKandi, Pacha& Defected, Gods Kitchen(Ibiza), Twice As Nice and Space (Ibiza), Indigo (Turkey) and many more.
