SJB releases political plan for economic development

By Easwaran Rutnam The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today released its political plan for economic development. The plan titled “Out of the Debt Trap and towards Sustainable, Inclusive Development” was launched in the presence of diplomats and economists. SJB leader Sajith Premadasa said that his Government will continue to deal with the IMF. However, he said a Government under the SJB is not duty bound to accept any agreement arrived at with a Government which has no mandate of the people.

Arjuna Ranatunga keeps doors to politics open

Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga says he is prepared to return to politics only if he gets an invitation from the right people. Ranatunga said that he is currently taking a break from politics as the public have chosen their representatives. However, he said if the right people come together and a proper system is in place he will consider returning to politics. The former cricketer said that most people are fed up with politics.
