Iran’s leader sees political will to boost ties with Sri Lanka

The President of Iran Hassan Rouhani offered congratulations to the Sri Lankan people and government over the South Asian country’s Independence Day.

In a message released to his Sri Lankan counterpart, Maithripala Sirisena, Rouhani felicitated Sri Lanka on its 69th Independence Day, Tasnim News Agency reported.

The Iranian president expressed confidence that amicable ties and cooperation between Tehran and Colombo would further expand in various spheres in light of the political will of the two countries’ officials.

Rouhani wished Sirisena success and the Sri Lankan people prosperity and happiness. (Colombo Gazette)
