President Maithripala Sirisena is to appoint a special Presidential Commission of Inquiry to probe the Central Bank bond issue.
The President tweeted saying that he will?appoint the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry this week to investigate the Central Bank bond issue and recommend action.
“I will appoint a Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry this week to investigate the Central Bank bond issue and recommend actions,” the President tweeted.
Parliament is scheduled to debate the report by the?Parliament Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on the alleged bond scam this week.
Last November the President said?a judicial process must be launched into the Central Bank bond scam.
The President said that an independent investigation must be held on the allegations.?(Colombo Gazette)
