Selling of stents at Government hospitals banned

The Ministry of Health says the selling of stents at Government hospitals has been banned.

A Health Ministry statement noted that private companies sell stents at Government hospitals through their sales agents.

The Ministry of Health said that some doctors at Government hospitals are charging patients for the stents.

As a result, Health Minister, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has instructed his officials to issue a circular banning the sale of stents in Government hospitals. (Colombo Gazette)
