Red notices issued to 4242 people in fight against dengue

Red notices have been issued to 4242 people in December in the fight against dengue, the Ministry of Health said today.

The Health Ministry said that legal action has also been filed against 939 people this month for having dengue breeding grounds on their property.

The Health Ministry said that steps have been taken to identify and eliminate dengue mosquito breeding grounds in the Western Province as well as in the Galle and Kalutara Districts.

A statement by the?Health Ministry said that?dengue mosquito breeding grounds in several schools have also been identified.

The assistance of parents of school children have been obtained by health officials to eliminate dengue mosquito breeding grounds in schools.

The?Health Ministry also said that abandoned boats in coastal areas have become breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes. (Colombo Gazette)
