Proposals sought to commence new domestic air service

Proposals are to be sought to commence a new domestic air service, the Government said.

It has been proposed to establish a domestic airline service according to the criteria of the International Civil Aviation Authority.

Accordingly, a proposal made by President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to call for proposals from eligible private investors to select a suitable investor for commencing such an airline service with the Sri Lanka Air Force, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
