Private bus operators suspend strike set for tomorrow

Private bus operators have suspend the strike which was scheduled for tomorrow, the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association (LPBOA) said.

LPBOA said the bus strike was called off after the Finance Ministry agreed to have talks with the association tomorrow.

The bus strike was to be staged tomorrow in protest over the minimum fine for traffic offences announced by the Finance Ministry.

The Finance Ministry had said yesterday it will not go back on its decision to impose a Rs. 2500 minimum fine on traffic offences. (Colombo Gazette)

Price of Litro Gas cylinders reduced

The price of Litro Gas cylinders has been reduced from midnight tonight (04 October 2019), the Consumer Affairs Authority said. The CAA said that the price of a 12.5 Kg LPG domestic gas cylinder has been reduced by Rs 240.00 in the Colombo District and by Rs 251.00 in all other Districts.
