Several concessions announced for the public

The Government today announced several concessions to the public in the 2017 budget which was presented to Parliament today.

Accordingly Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake announced that green gram will be reduced by Rs. 15, dhal by Rs. 10, potatoes, sprats and kerosene by Rs. 5 and LP gas by Rs. 25.

Karunanayake said tolls on the expressways will be reduced by Rs. 50, between 9 pm to 5 am every
day.

Owing to surplus of rice, 5 kilogrammes of rice per month will be distributed to?each Samurdhi recipient. The cost of which will be deducted from the Samurdhi?Stipend. (Colombo Gazette)
