Over 18 foot long crocodile captured in Matara

A crocodile, over 18 feet long, was captured in Matara and released back into the Nilwala river.

The crocodile had surfaced from the river and entered a village in Welegoda, Matara.

Villagers and Wildlife officers got together and captured the crocodile and transported it by tractor to the river.

Wildlife officers said the crocodile had three legs and it was believed the animal was born with the deformity. (Colombo Gazette)

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), which is promoting former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, today made deposits for the Local Government (LG) elections.
