Dilrukshi resumes duties as the Additional Solicitor General

The former Director General of the commission to investigate allegations of bribery or corruption, Dilrukshi Dias Wickremesinghe, resumed duties as the Additional Solicitor General today.
Dilrukshi Dias Wickremesinghe had tendered her resignation from her?post as Director General of the commission to investigate allegations of bribery or corruption earlier this week.
Wickramasinghe assumed duties as the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, on 12th February 2015.
She submitted her resignation just days after President Maithripala Sirisena warned that he will be compelled to take action against politicising the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID), Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the?Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The President had said he had conveyed this message to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The?President?s statement drew strong reactions from civil society and some political parties in the opposition.
The Janatha Vimukthi Pramuna (JVP) had sought a clarification from the President over the statement he made.
The JVP said the statement made by the President was very serious and seems like one which challenges the mandate he received from the voters on January 8, 2015. (Colombo Gazette)
