Court extends injunction issued against Vithanage?s movie

The Colombo District Court today extended the injunction order issued against Prasanna Vithanage?s movie ?Usaviya Nihandai? (Silence in?the Courts).

The?injunction order was earlier issued till today but it was further extended till tomorrow.

In the movie, two women from a farming village about 100km away from country?s capital are raped within one year by court judge presiding over cases which involved their husbands as accused parties.

A newspaper editor publishes the cover up of the incident and with the buildup peer pressure, three years after the incidents took place, the Judiciary Services Commission appoints a tribunal consisting of three high court judges to investigate the accusations made by the newspaper. No approval for vehicle imports in 2022

The Government will not permit the importation of vehicles in 2022, Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa said today. He said that Sri Lanka is facing a crisis in foreign reserves, especially since there has been a drastic drop in remittances sent by the migrant workers. As a result, he said that the importation of vehicles in 2022 will not be permitted. He also said that fresh recruitment of public sector employees will also not be carried out in 2022.
