Welgama’s house searched for bulletproof vehicles

The residence of former Minister Kumara Welgama was searched today for bulletproof vehicles owned by the Government.

Officers of the police Special Investigations Unit conducted the search based on a court order.

The search was carried out at Welgama’s Mathugama residence based on a complaint made that the former Minister had in his possession some bulletproof vehicles.

The Government vehicles were alleged?to have been kept at Welgama’s residence illegally but such vehicles were not found during the search operations. (Colombo Gazette)
