Sri Lanka is targeting more tourists from Western Europe due to high revenue and high value generated by tourists from those countries, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) said today. Chinese national arrested at BIA with 200 live scorpions

A Chinese man has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with 200 live scorpions. Customs officers at the airport arrested the Chinese man when he attempted to smuggle the live scorpions out of the country. The live scorpions were found concealed in his luggage. (Colombo Gazette)

Employment assured for over 50,000 unemployed graduates

The Government has assured employment for over 50,000 unemployed graduates. Minister of Education and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Dullas Alahapperuma said that employment opportunities will be provided for over 50,000 unemployment graduates by March this year.
