Over 200 people have been affected and two peopled killed following the bad weather which affected parts of the country last night. Probe on unidentified object which fell in Kandy (UPDATED)

An investigation has been launched into an unidentified object which fell in from the sky in Kandy this morning. The Disaster Management Center said that the object was shaped like a pipe while the department of meteorology said they were trying to see if the object was part of the weather monitoring equipment deployed in the sky. Aussie delegation in Lanka to stop boat people

A high level Australian delegation is in Sri Lanka to look at ways to curb boat people reaching Australia to seek asylum. The delegation had talks with the Navy Commander as well as the Ministry of Defence and other officials in Sri Lanka.
