BBS to stage protest against Wigneswaran in Vavuniya

The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) is to stage a protest in Vavuniya tomorrow against Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran.
The BBS said that the protest will be staged to express opposition to the recent statements reportedly made by?Wigneswaran.
BBS General Secretary?Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara thero is to lead the protest.
The BBS said that the protest will look to draw attention to the need to protect the “minority Sinhalese” community in the North.
Wigneswaran is reported to have said recently that Sinhalese families should not be settled in the North and that Buddhist Temples should also not be erected in Tamil dominated areas.
His comments drew criticism form the Government and opposition and raised fears it will open the doors for ethnic tensions. (Colombo Gazette)
