Belarus, Sri Lanka discuss legal framework for bilateral relations

Belarus and Sri Lanka have had talks on the devolopment of the legal framework for bilateral relations between both countries, the?Belarus Foreign Ministry said.

Belarus hosted the third round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Sri Lanka yesterday (August 22).

The Belarusian side was headed by Valentin Rybakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. Sri Lankan delegation was headed by G. Asirvatham, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka.

During the meeting the parties discussed the whole range of topical issues of bilateral relations such as regional cooperation, cooperation in the field of culture and the education, health, science and technology.

Special attention was paid to the development of the legal framework of bilateral relations, as well as cooperation within international organizations. (Colombo Gazette)

Indian killed, two others injured in Kotadeniyawa

An Indian was killed and two others sustained injuries following an explosion in Kotadeniyawa, the Police said. The Police said the explosion occurred at a?steel factory in the area. The Indians are employed at the factory. The Police said that a boiler at the factory had exploded this morning causing injuries to three Indians. Coronavirus death toll in Sri Lanka rises to 211

The death toll in Sri Lanka from the coronavirus rose to 211 today, the Government said. The Government Information Department said that three deaths linked to the virus were reported today.
