Several files at the Foreign Ministry related to overseas tours by Parliamentarians and officials in the past?have gone missing.
This was revealed to Parliament by Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera today when he was responding to a question raised on foreign tours by Government members and officials.
The Minister said that, for example, in 2006 a 142 member delegation had accompanied former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on an overseas tour but details of only half of those who went with the President was available at the Foreign Ministry.
The Minister said that an investigation has been launched over the missing files.?(Colombo Gazette)
