Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today insisted that the Government has no intention of interfering with the administration of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC).
Speaking in Parliament today, the Prime Minister said that the Government is coordinating with the NPC and Northern province chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran on matters related to the North.
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) had in Parliament today raised concerns over the failure of the Government to include Wigneswaran in a task force appointed to address resettlement issues in the North.
The Prime Minister however said that a three member Ministerial committee appointed for this purpose was working with the chief secretary of the North on the matter. (Colombo Gazette)
