Sri Lanka is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Georgia to expand the bilateral relationship between both countries,?Media Minister Gayantha Karunatillake said.
The Minister?said that the cabinet approved the signing of the MoU on bilateral political consultations between the Sri Lankan Ministry of foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The cabinet approved the proposal made by Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera to sign the MoU during the political consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs scheduled to be held in Colombo from 3-4 August 2016.
Diplomatic relations between Georgia and Sri Lanka were established on June 16, 1998. (Colombo Gazette)
