Lanka rejects concerns over democracy

The government has rejected concerns raised about its state of democracy following the appointment of a new Chief Justice. TRC to ban unregistered mobile phones

The Sri Lanka Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRCSL) has decided to ban mobile phones that are not registered with the TRC by blocking the mobile signal. TRC says modern equipment will be used to identify the unregistered mobile phones and remove them from use, a government statement said today.
