The statement also said that the?Minister of National Policy and Economics Affairs Niroshan Perera opened a new Chinese language training centre to assist the tourism industry which is heavily dependent on Chinese visitors.

The training centre was opened at a hotel training school located in Dambulla.?Perera said that the training centre will be a big boost to the tourism industry in the country.

The highest number of tourists to visit Sri Lanka are from China but staff at local hotels find it difficult to communicate with the Chinese owing to a language barrier.
