Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma, mothers granted bail

Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma, who was arrested recently for forcing the authorities of a school to admit 10 children, was granted bail today.

A group of Mothers who?were arrested and remanded over the same incident, wee also granted bail today.

The mothers?with the assistance of Thewarapperuma, forced the Meegahatenna primary school to admit their children.

The nine mothers were arrested for threatening and forcing the authorities to admit their children to the school.

Thewarapperuma instigated the drama and even attempted to commit suicide and was admitted to hospital. (Colombo Gazette)
