Joint opposition says no-confidence on Ravi will test SLFP

The joint opposition says the no-confidence motion on Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake will test the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

A statement by the?joint opposition said that the SLFP was originally formed to defeat the United National Party (UNP).

However the statement notes some members?of the SLFP are?now working with the Government and?the no-confidence motion will be a test to see if the SLFP really stands for?the policies of the SLFP or the UNP.

The vote on the?no-confidence motion on Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake will be taken in Parliament on Wednesday.

The SLFP members in the Government are expected to vote against the?no-confidence motion while the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna is expected to support it. (Colombo Gazette)
