Hundreds of Sri Lankans in Italy attend annual pilgrimage

Hundreds of Sri Lankans living in Italy gathered in the city of Padua to attend an annual pilgrimage, Italian media reported.

Reports said that over 10,000 Sri Lankan immigrants from all over Italy met in Padua on the occasion of their annual pilgrimage to the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua.

The pilgrimage began with Sinhalese and Tamil events. The Holy Mass was presided by His Eminence, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, archbishop of Colombo. The Cardinal is also President of the Bishops’ Conference of Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
