One killed, another injured in Kataragama shooting, stabbing

One person was killed and another person sustained injuries in a stabbing and shooting incident in the Sella Kataragama area today. The Police said that two people were stabbed and later shot at in the Sella Kataragama area on the Thanamalwila Road this evening. One person was killed in the incident while the other was admitted to hospital for treatment. Investigations are underway.

Indian court rules in favour of Hindus in Babri Mosque case

India’s top court cleared the way on Saturday for a Hindu temple to be constructed at a hotly disputed holy site in a huge victory for Hindu nationalists under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
