Malik asserts “white elephant” projects will be transformed

The Government today told Parliament that the?”white elephant” projects initiated by the former Government will be transformed?into more profitable?ventures.

Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade?Malik Samarawickrama said that as part of the transformation process an industrial zone will be established at the Hambantota port.

The Minister also?warned that blocking the proposed trade and economic deals with China and India could harm Sri Lanka’s development.

Samarawickrama said that the proposed agreements with China and India will be the cornerstones of the development process in the country. (Colombo Gazette)
