Yoshitha suspended from Navy to assist FCID probe

YoshithaYoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been suspended from the Navy to assist the investigations being conducted by the police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID).

The Navy said that Yoshitha Rajapaksa has been suspended with effect from February 28 on the recommendations of the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Yoshitha Rajapaksa is currently in remand prison and is being investigated for alleged money laundering in connection to the case filed against the Carlton Sports Network (CSN).

The Colombo High Court today decided to hear the bail application filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s lawyers on March 8.

Yoshitha Rajapaksa was also investigated by the Navy over his alleged unprofessional conduct when he was in the Navy as a Lieutenant when his father was the President.

A report based on the investigations had been sent to the Ministry of Defence. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. What suspension. This fellow should be sacked. He got in to the Navy by degrading the qualifications required at that time for the position as he did not meet the qualifications.SL Govt must make sure he pay back all the money on all un authorized trips and training abroad. Rajapassa family is a huge liability to Sri Lanka.

    • If yoshitter has done nothing wrong then why dont you go and release him. Simple !!! If you are a law abiding citizen then fight for all those who are unjustly incarcerated.

Reminds me of our Andare the court clown who blamed the Kitul tree for not having grass growing at it’s crown rather than himself who was the Sweet Toddy thief.You would have made an ideal Supreme Court Judge under the Rajapakse regime.Missed your chance !
