The Presidential Commission on Missing Persons says it expects a short extension of the duration of its term in office?from today to complete some of its unfinished work.
The duration of?the commission’s term in office ends today but the chairman of the commission?Maxwell Parakrama Paranagama said that he has yet to receive notice from the President’s office if the term has been extended.
Maxwell Paranagama however told the Colombo Gazette that he expects a short extension of the?duration.
“As of this morning we had not received notice on the duration?being extended but I expect a short extension,” he said.
The power to extend the duration of the commission is in the hands of the President and if the duration is not extended then the commission will be dissolved. (Colombo Gazette)
