Man deported from Oman arrested at BIA by CID

A Tamil youth has been?arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after being deported from Oman, the police media unit said today.

The police said that the 25 year old youth is a resident of Kilinochchi and was arrested yesterday after he arrived at the Katunayake airport on being deported from Oman.

The youth was?detained in Oman while attempting to travel to Italy on a forged visa.

He is to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate today. The CID is conducting further investigations. (Colombo Gazette)
