Gota ready to enter politics; Wimal says new front almost ready

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa says is prepared to enter politics if the public want him to.

Speaking to reporters outside the Presidential Commission on large scale fraud today,?Rajapaksa said that the country needs a strong opposition.

He said that Tamil National Alliance leader R. Sampanthan cannot be accepted as the opposition leader.

Meanwhile National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa said that a new opposition political front is being formed and that is is almost ready to commence work.

Asked if?Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will play a key role in the new political front, Weerawansa said that it is too early to comment. (Colombo Gazette)
