Principal, deputy principal of Pollonaruwa school nabbed

The?principal, duty principal and an office assistant of a school in Pollonaruwa?have been?arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery Or Corruption (CIABOC).

Director, Investigations, Priyantha Chandrasiri said that they were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs. 7500 inside the school.

Chandrasiri said that the?duty principal and office assistant of the?school had obtained the bribe on behalf of the?principal to admit a child to the school.

He said that the arrest was made following investigations conducted on a complaint the Commission had received.

The?principal, duty principal and office assistant are to be produced before a Magistrate in?Pollonaruwa. (Colombo Gazette)
