A decision has been taken to close all schools in the Galle Educational Zone from tomorrow. Kandy records a steady rise in coronavirus patients

Kandy has recorded a steady rise in coronavirus patients with most patients being inmates at the Bogambara prison. According to the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the COVID-19, a total of 170 coronavirus patients were detected in Kandy over a 24-hour period ending at 6am today. AG’s advice sought on disposal of remains of Mahara Prison riot inmates

The advice of the Attorney General (AG) has been sought on the disposal of the remains of the inmates killed during the Mahara Prison riot. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the court had informed the Police to obtain the advice of the AG on the matter.
