Why focus only on Lasantha, Prageeth asks TNA MP

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarian and owner of the Northern based ‘Uthayan’ newspaper E Saravanabavan, today questioned as to why the Government is only investigating the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickremetunga and the disappearance of cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda and not the attacks on journalists in the North.

Speaking in Parliament today,?Sarawanabavan said that while it is good to see the new Government investigating some of the incidents involving journalists, there must be focus on incidents involving journalists in the North as well.

He said that several incidents targeting the media in the North had taken place when the former Government was in power, in areas close to where there was a strong military presence. (Colombo Gazette)
