Government will act on corrupt Ministers

The Government says it will act on corrupt Ministers if there is evidence to back allegations against them.

United National Party (UNP) General Secretary and Minister?Kabir Hashim said that the policy of the Government is to ensure good governance.

He said that there is no need to bring a no-confidence motion in Parliament on any Minister as the Government will act against them if there is evidence to prove any allegation.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna said?it has decided to bring a no-confidence motion against Law and Order Minister Thilak Marapana in Parliament.

JVP Parliamentarian Bimal Ratnayake said that the JVP will also vote against the?Law and Order Ministry budget when the debate and vote on the 2016 budget takes place.

Ratnayake told reporters today that the JVP had decided on this stand as a result of the statements made by?Marapana in support of Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd.

The JVP is pushing the Government to take action against?Avant Garde which operated a floating armory with the support of the former Government. (Colombo Gazette)

Citizens arrest foils attempt to buy voting cards in Beruwala
