Fonseka not happy with progress so far

31 Oct, 2015

Former Army Commander, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka is disappointed with the progress shown so far by the new Government in meeting its promises to the public.

Fonseka said that the public and several politicians backed Maithripala Sirisena to be?President during the January Presidential elections.

He said that after Sirisena won the election a lot has happened including media freedom and ties with the UN being mended.

However he says the public are yet to benefit from the concessions the new Government promised by way of bringing down the cost of living.

Fonseka noted that time is going fast and Sirisena has already spent time as President and needs to do more soon to keep the people happy. (Colombo Gazette)
